Wahl medical translations offers linguistic services (translation / editing / reviewing) in the following fields:
– Medicine
– Pharmaceutics / clinical research
– Medical engineering / IVD
– Medical market research
Translations in the following language pairs:
– English to German
– Spanish to German
– German to English (in specific cases)
Editing / reviewing in(to) German only.
Additional fields include e.g.:
– Contracts
– Privacy statements (EU-GDPR)
– Terms and conditions
– Official documents (with and without certification)
in the language pairs:
– English to German
– German to English
I am authorised to do certified / sworn translations (“beglaubigte Übersetzungen”).
Each text is different and I will let you know the rate for a document after I have seen it. Rates are based on the degree of difficulty and complexity of the source text.
The below line and word rates apply to translations and are either per source word or per target line or, for all types of jobs, per hour. Editing / reviewing will be charged at a reduced word rate or by the hour.
Minimum charge: 30.00 EUR (plus VAT, if applicable).
Certification fee: 15.00 EUR (plus VAT, if applicable) per document.
Free quotation: Please ask for a free, non-binding quotation or costs estimate for your specific linguistic project.

Rush jobs / night work
I add a surcharge of 40% for rush jobs or night work.
All about discounts
I understand that you want high-quality translations for as little money as possible and that you are happy if you get discounts for large projects. But I also assume that you do not want to hop from one linguist to another for best prices but that you wish to start a long-term prosperous collaboration with a language service provider who is a serious translator / editor and produces excellent work.
I have invested many years in sound training, and much money in further education and working materials, to provide you with the linguistic services and the high quality, expertise and up-to-date equipment you can expect from a professional language service provider – now and in future.
My rates are reasonably calculated. Larger documents do not necessarily justify quantity discounts because they take more time to check the consistency of language, style and terminology.
But it is true that many repetitions of sentences, in part or in whole, can speed up the translation process, if I use a translation tool (which I usually do). And it is also true that I work faster once I have become familiar with a specific subject. Therefore, if you have longer documents or updates of documents which I had previously translated, I offer you to compare the line / word rate with the hours I actually need and charge you the best rate. So you will save money – even without discounts.
